Stream quality depends on three links: your internet connection, your device and your player app. These tips help you get the most out of each one.
Your network
- Use an Ethernet cable wherever possible. Cable is more stable than Wi-Fi.
- Choose 5 GHz Wi-Fi if cable isn't an option, and place your router high and unobstructed.
- Consider mesh Wi-Fi in larger homes or with thick walls.
- Limit heavy downloads while watching, such as game updates or cloud backups.
Your device
- Keep your software up to date, on both your TV and your stick or box.
- Free up storage: remove unused apps and clear your player's cache.
- Restart your stick or box now and then; it fixes many small issues.
Your player app
- Try a different player engine (hardware or software decoding) in the settings.
- Increase the buffer size if your app allows it.
